Covid-19 vaccine - our COVID-19 vaccinations have started at the Alexandra Suite in Swanley

Covid-19 vaccinations are being provided through a range of local NHS services (including Federations). The vaccines will be available to everyone over 18 years old. People will be invited for vaccination based on a nationally set priority list. The elderly and most at risk from Covid-19 will be vaccinated first.

GP practices are working together within their local networks to get the patient vaccinated.

Our local Federation, DGS Health, will be providing the COVID-19 service on behalf of our Primary Care Network  (Oaks/Cedars/ Hextable/Devon Road/Braeside).  This is taking place at the Alexandra Suite in Swanley.

Some weeks, when there is a good supply of vaccine, individual surgeries will also offer some vaccination clinics.  So far the Oaks has been able to offer three of these at weekends.  Please accept calls, even if the number is witheld.  In addition, some of the PCN practices, from time to time when there is sufficient vaccine, may contact priority patients alongside the Federation for vaccination.

If you are over 55 years of age or in the high risk category for COVID-19, you may also book at a central vaccination centre - please follow intstructions to book both vaccinations here.

It is possible that patients will receive invitations also centrally from the NHS for national vaccination centres such as the Excel Centre and Epsom Racecourse; however this is an option which patients may wish to take up and it is their choice.  If they decline, they will still be invited more locally.  Please do not contact the surgery; our phone lines are very busy and we would appreciate your support to keep phone lines open for people needing to make appointments for other health matters.

The vaccination programme will take several months to work through everyone, so it could be some time before you are contacted.

Please help protect yourself, friends and loved ones by getting vaccinated when you are invited.  Local vaccine centres and GP surgeries are currently still vaccination Cohort 6 and upwards, including the additional patients who have been asked to shield over the past week, who will have received information centrally from the NHS.
